We're used to things being simple

In our many years' experience designing e-learning for the classroom, the MyKnowledgeMap team have learned a lot. We've learned that teachers are genuinely excited by the possibilities of computer-enhanced learning. We've learned that schools and colleges really believe in the potential that new technologies in the classroom have to engage learners.

But we've also learned that many of the existing e-learning products aren't flexible enough to be useful to teachers in the average classroom situation.

That's why at MyKnowledgeMap, we spend much of our time talking to education professionals, learning how we can help you teach in the way that you feel most comfortable.

Quick and Easy

We learned that what teachers wanted most of all was a simple tool that would make it quick and easy to custom-build e-learning courses. A tool that lets you break free from the rigid structures that off-the-shelf e-learning tried to impose. A tool that would make it as easy to work with e-learning courses as it is to work with whiteboards, textbooks and word-processors.

When we looked around at the existing tools that might help teachers, we knew we could do better: they were too technical, and took too much time to learn. We wanted to give teachers a simple tool that would enable them to bring together all the computer-based resources and e-learning they've found most useful, and easily organise it all into the course that they want to teach: the course that's best suited to their learners.

We created Compendle: a tool for teachers who want to build extraordinary courses without extraordinary technical know-how.
